Blue Goose Pottery
ABOUT THE POTTER,
My Love of Pottery
I was raised on a small farm in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia with my family. I learned at an early age that anything “home grown” or “handmade” brings more enjoyment and a much greater satisfaction to life. My life on a small, working farm has influenced the functional nature and rustic look of my work.
I have been drawn to the warmth and usefulness of pottery for many years, and I finally had the opportunity to begin taking night classes while I was working full time in a finance position. I have been creating part-time since I retired in 2015.
Each piece of Blue Goose Pottery is thrown on my pottery wheel or hand constructed in my studio on our family farm in Berkeley County, West Virginia. I focus on functional, durable, well-made pottery that can be used and enjoyed every day, not just on special occasions! I hope my pieces bring you as much joy as creating them brings to me……I hope you find something that speaks to you!
